Knight Bunny is a tale for turbulent times. I wanted to tell a story that not only navigates themes of power in an unstable world, but also reiterates the importance of courage in the face of oppression. I think these themes are timeless and key to navigating the world today.
With this story, I wanted to show readers that hope lies in even the smallest of creatures, and that both courage and a bit of whimsy are one’s greatest strengths in life.
KNIGHT BUNNY
When a star of power falls in the medieval kingdom of Amalin, Quinn, a rambunctious bunny with big dreams of knighthood, sets out on a daunting quest to recover the star for King Richard the Lion. But as her journey progresses, Quinn learns that her “noble quest” may not be as righteous as her King would have her believe. As Quinn’s dreams of knighthood (and its costs) are called into question, she and her companions must confront fearsome foes and inner struggles in order to lay claim to the legendary star.
Age range: 9-12 years (middle grade)
